Plastic Packaging Inc. News & Events

Plastic Packaging regularly exhibits at national trade shows, as shown in the photo above.

On June 27, 2007, we are celebrating our 50th anniversary with a big party for all current and former employees. Founded by T. Cass Ballenger, who served at the county commission and state legislature level before representing North Carolina in Congress for 18 years, Plastic Packaging has grown to include plants in three locations employing 300 people with over 300,000 square feet of combined space.

At the same time we are proud to announce the installation of not one but two of the largest, fastest flexographic presses in the world, made by Fischer & Krecke.

These huge 10-color machines are highly automated, including self-cleaning between press runs. Because of fast change-over we can now make shorter runs economically. The equipment will even clean inactive rolls while other rolls are printing live jobs!

For our customers these "Flexpresses" will mean the highest color quality and speed available today. The equipment is designed with tremendous physical and temperature stability for outstanding consistency and repeatability.
